Every calculator on GardenMathLab produces an estimate based on standard geometry and published guidelines. Real-world results vary with your materials, soil, climate, and how you fill and water your beds. We round up where it matters (bag counts, settling), but you should always sanity-check a result before ordering a truckload of anything.

Not professional advice

Our guides are general gardening information for home gardeners in the United States. They are not professional agronomic, landscaping or structural advice. For site-specific questions — drainage, retaining walls, soil contamination, large trees — consult a qualified local professional or your county cooperative extension office.

Sources and accuracy

We cross-check our numbers against US cooperative extension services and NOAA climate data, and we print our formulas and assumptions on every tool page. If you spot an error, please tell us — we correct verified mistakes promptly.
